I have a passion for video games, contemporary Chinese, Japanese and Korean cinema, electronic music, and digital culture in general.
I’m currently in Shanghai teaching English (among a throng of Westerners doing so), enjoying the city, and other cultural-odyssey type of stuff.
Mr. Fossy is the (incorrectly spelled) name of a character in the game The Curse of Monkey Island. The character is the psychotic caretaker of a fairly benign ape, whom he believes to be a ruthless, bloodthirsty pirate. I started using the name as a handle in Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament matches, and I’ve used it ever since. So, if you see a ‘Mr Fossy’ in CS:S or UT3, or a ‘Fossy’ on the Barthilus server of WoW, it’ll be me.
