I'd read that the last Handsome Furs YYT show, a year previous, 'went orff!'. And other reviews said that this show also 'went orff!'. So the level of went-orffness was roughly the same, apparently. But to the extent that the audience really got into the music, it didn't compare to other gigs I've seen. A bit of jumping - sure. Appreciative nodding - you'd expect there to be. If people were turning savage and crazy, I might have hung around longer. But it was lame all over! That’s what I couldn’t work out, though. He just comes across as a slightly inarticulate, weed of a politician. He doesn't address the allegations of fraud directly, but seems rather flattered with all the attention, and smugly self-righteous in the face of it. If he cared about his reputation as a university professor, he'd have made sure to respond to those serious allegations. And that’s why I don’t get too worried about a man like Plimer.
